Should We Commit to a Monthly (winter) Campground Rate?

So if you read my last post, we were hopping from one Harvest Host to another, waiting for a load for John to transport for work. We were wondering if a monthly campground rate would be wiser.
We decided to commit to a month at Elkhart RV Resort. This is beneficial because a monthly rate is cheaper, and also includes WiFi, showers, and laundry. We do have a shower in our camper; however, we do not use it during the winter so it will not freeze. We were also able to walk to a grocery store about a half mile away. Most people would not have walked this far in the winter, but we feel it is part of the adventure!
At one point the Feels Like Temperature was minus 25! Of course, we did not walk on that day! During this time I did stay inside the camper for 5 straight days. The ice was thick on the campground road. At one point John said, "You realize you have been sitting in the bed of a pickup truck for 5 days." Our camper is so comfy cozy that I never thought about it like that! But that just goes to show how comfortable our Supertramp camper is.....that you can sit in it for 5 days without any problem.
What did we do during these five days, you might ask? While John watched the load boards for work, we worked on our tax preparation. We also kept up with emails, texts, and FaceTimed with family.
☀️ A few days later, the sun melted some ice. It melted enough for us to get out and take an excursion. We went to Silver Beach County Park in St. Joseph, Michigan on Lake Michigan. The Indiana campground we are staying at is so close to Michigan that the area is called Michiana. Love that.

In any case, it was an awesome excursion! We were absolutely fascinated by the ice shelves at Lake Michigan. Ice shelves form as wind and waves pile ice chunks. We were able to walk on these frozen formations due to the freezing temperatures the area experienced. A word of caution: Sometimes ice shelves can have moving water underneath, and the formations can collapse due to this or wind and fluctuating temperatures. Therefore, caution is always advised. We walked around and took photos. It was a fantastic day.....certainly one I will never forget!
John got what we call a "load" or a "dispatch," so off to work we go! We picked up the trailer in LaGrange, Indiana and are ultimately headed to Columbia, South Carolina. We stopped for the night at our favorite stopover at Tamarack in Beckley, West Virginia. We went in depth about Tamarack in our post last week. 😉
After delivering the trailer to Columbia, South Carolina, we decided to thaw out and go to our hometown - about a 3 1/2 hour drive. We stayed at our beloved Myrtle Beach State Park. When we lived in Myrtle Beach, we had a State Park Pass that allowed us into all SC State Parks.
The next day we woke up to the sound of the beach and warm weather. We opened the bed window and took a walk on the beach. Can you imagine what this felt like after a Feels Like Temperature in Indiana of minus 25 degrees? It felt AMAZING!
We met Rory & Alan for lunch. Rory & Alan still lived in Myrtle Beach at that time. They moved to Greenville, South Carolina later on. After lunch, we went to see my coworkers! How I miss all of them! They were all surprised to see us!
We went through our things in the camper and took things we were not using to our storage unit. Also while in Myrtle, John went to his dermatologist, we went to our bank, visited with friends, walked on the beach, and soaked up the ☀️!
But now it was time to go. It was a short, but wonderful visit. Where are we headed to? Stay tuned! Since there was no immediate work, we did not wind up going back to Indiana right away! Stay tuned!
